Upper Peninsula Land Conservancy

We are now a regional nonprofit land conservancy with a working board and professional staff. Our Program Manager is in our Marquette office and handles the main business of the organization.

UPLC is qualified under state law to own land to establish nature preserves, as well as hold conservation easements. We currently protect over 2500 acres of land in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula through conservation easements and land donations.

Established in 1999 as the Central Lake Superior Land Conservancy, the U. P. Land Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) organization.

Our Mission:

The Upper Peninsula Land Conservancy promotes the permanent legal protection of the conservation values of natural, agricultural, recreational, and scenic lands in Michigan's Upper Peninsula (U.P.) through the use of conservation easements, land donations, and education.
