Oregon Sustainable Agriculture Land Trustlast updated: January 2008

Or purpose is: to protect rural and urban agricultural lands from encroachment by non-agricultural uses; to make those lands available for use by future generations of growers; to conduct research and education centered on the sustainable production and distribution of agricultural bounty.

We hold title to rural and urban agricultural lands in Oregon (farm, ranch, nursery, forest, garden, etc.) to keep them in agricultural production, work with land owners to secure permanent land protection, and conduct land-based research and education programs.

We are of interest to Oregon agricultural land owners (urban and rural) who want their land to stay in agricultural production, but have no one to pass the land to who can/will honor that wish. We can protect the land in perpetuity, keep it in agricultural production, and yet still provide benefits to family members of the owner (if there are any).

We can be particularly useful in situations where one child wants to continue the operation, but other children do not.
