The purpose of the McKinleyville Land Trust is to conserve local open spaces for ecological, historical, agricultural, educational, recreational and scenic values. It was started in 1994 as a result of local residents’ response to the development of the Mill Creek Shopping Center and its potential impacts on Mill Creek.
The McKinleyville Land Trust is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization operated by a part-time all-volunteer board of directors which relies on donations and fundraising to raise money to cover the cost of keeping its three parcels open to the public.
