Gabriola Land and Trails Trust

The Gabriola Land and Trails Trust (GaLTT) is a not-for profit charitable society created in 2004 by a group of proactive Gabriola Island residents desiring to secure more park land, protect important ecological features, and develop additional trails on publicly owned land.

GaLTT is working to:
• Preserve and protect the natural environment of Gabriola Island
• Increase access to parks, trails, beaches, and sites of particular historical or social interest for public recreational enjoyment

The Gabriola Land and Trails Trust is working with our local Islands Trust, the Regional District of Nanaimo, other community groups, land trusts and conservation organizations to acquire, develop and sustain properties, and to support the objectives of Gabriola’s Official Community Plan.

GaLTT members are building a common understanding while effectively exercising skills and experience to make a difference in our community.

Memberships and Donations
(1) A strong membership demonstrates the community commitment to our mandate that is critical to successfully compete for project grants.

(2) Monetary donations contribute to basic operations, property surveys or improvements, and can be specifically directed to build our land acquisition fund for the future.

(3) The funds raised are essential to help pay for basic operations not covered by project grants and fund raising initiatives.

(4) In-kind donations of goods and services contribute to all kinds of projects and improvements in our parks and trails network that support GaLTT’s mandate.

(5) GaLTT can provide a charitable tax receipt for annual donations of $20 or greater.
