Mission
to encourage and facilitate the preservation, protection or enhancement of land in its natural, historical, agricultural, forested, or open space condition or use.

The mission includes providing resource protection, educational opportunities and public access to such land and other wilderness resources, consistent with its preservation, protection or enhancement, for the benefit of current and future generations. The purpose of the organization may also include protection, restoration, and reuse of historic or other signi cant structures.

The CLC has facilitated the transfer of several properties from private ownership to conservation status. Most of these transfers have resulted in public ownership of the land to agencies such as the Western Riverside County Regional Conservation Agency, State of California (Fish and Wildlife), Orange County Transportation Agency, and the County of Orange.
