Founded in 1980, Boothbay Region Land Trust (BRLT) is a non-profit organization working to conserve the natural beauty and character of the Boothbay region including the towns of Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, Edgecomb, and Southport. We work with towns, land owners, residents, visitors and neighboring land trusts to conserve and steward the land. BRLT preserves provide over 30 miles of hiking trails open year-round, free-of-charge.
The Boothbay Region Land Trust seeks to conserve for the public benefit the natural habitat, scenic beauty and working land of the Boothbay Region.
BRLT conserves land through partnerships with local landowners, neighboring land trusts, and towns. BRLT owns much of the land it protects but it also utilizes important conservation tools such as conservation easements to protect land in perpetuity.
