Bee and Butterfly Habitat Fund

The Bee & Butterfly Habitat Fund (BBHF) identifies opportunities to establish critical pollinator habitat to help honey bee and monarch butterfly populations thrive. Guided by the mission to increase and improve pollinator forage and habitat, the organization develops affordable, pollinator-focused seed mixes through NextGen Habitat Projects.

Working on projects that range from private landowners to utility scale solar energy and municipalities to state wildlife management areas, the BBHF designs and provides access to free pollinator seed mixtures for projects that are 2 acres and larger and occur in a 12-state region of the Midwest and Great Plains.  The BBHF provides access to one-on-one technical guidance for each project as well as the seed.  Pollnator seed mixtures are provided through a program called 'Seed A Legacy' (https://www.beeandbutterflyfund.org/seed-a-legacy-program.html).  The webiste provides access to a simple on-line application process.
