WPHA Summer Regulatory Conference

The Western Plant Health Association will hold it's annual conference July 16-14 in Sacramento, CA.

The Western Plant Health Association will hold its annual summer regulatory conference July 16-17 at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in downtown Sacramento, Calif.

This year’s conference features presentations on biotechnology, surface water, and groundwater issues by industry, academic, and regulatory experts.

Keynote speakers include Matt Rodriquez, Secretary of the California Environmental Protection Agency; Brian Leahy, Director of the California Department of Pesticide Regulation; and Karen Ross, Secretary of the California Department of Food and Agriculture.

Water experts from the Central Coast and the Central Valley will discuss the impact of current water quality regulations and how those regulations are impacting growers.

As a result of the ongoing concern over honey bee health, event organizers have dedicated an entire session to discuss agricultural issues surrounding pollinator protection.
