William B. Wolpert

Green Building Architects has fresh ideas on design while minimizing the impacts of development. We are experienced in all phases of planning and design for residential and commercial buildings, including historic rehabilitation. In addition, we serve as consultants on green building applications and feasibility. We also love and are inspired by the vernacular architecture of California’s North Bay.

Build Smart, Build Green

Green architecture is not all new. The time-honored traditions of good site planning and building design still apply. We strive to accomplish four major goals in all our designs:

  • Minimize site impacts and construction waste
  • Conserve energy and natural resources
  • Create healthy indoor environments
  • Create beautiful, durable structures that blend with their surroundings

Sustainable design is about making your home more comfortable and less reliant on technology, whether that design is contemporary or traditional.

What is new about green building is that costs can be the same—or less—than building a conventional house . While there are many “shades of green,” a significant difference can be made, especially on new homes. When you consider the energy savings, construction quality, and lower maintenance over time, a sustainable building really is paying you back.

Building Relationships

We listen to our clients. At Green Building Architects we create unique, elegant designs by bringing together the two most important components of a project—vision and expertise—through collaboration between the client, the builder, and the architect. It’s a team approach from the beginning.
