The Wasilla SWCD encompasses 836,000 acres within the heart of the Mat-Su Borough and includes the areas of Point MacKenzie, the City of Wasilla, the City of Houston, Big Lake, Willow and Hatcher Pass.  The Wasilla District has been assisting private landowners with conservation and land development in the Mat-Su Valley for over 50 years. The mission of the Wasilla Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) is to assist landowners and land managers with land conservation and development  through technical assistance and educational programs.
