Stillwaters Farm

As a growing agritourism enterprise, Stillwaters Farm is first and foremost an exhibition farm where animals of many different varieties reside for the primary purpose of our (and their) enjoyment!  Because these gentle creatures are approachable even by the youngest of us, they are wonderful teaching tools for our visitors.  It is unfortunate that a growing number of people in our country have never been up close and personal with a donkey or a cow or a sheep.

We raise our donkeys and Great Pyrenees livestock guard dogs both for their working value as well as for another purpose—to provide trained predator guards for flocks and herds of livestock.  They are bred, raised, and trained at our farm, and when sold, they perform their jobs above any expectation their new families may have.  Secondly, we are attempting to marry a “farm stay” at the Cottage with the exhibition nature of the farm.  We invite our guests to take a tour, get to know our residents, and jump right in to our daily activities, if they are so inclined.  Thirdly, we are a nature preserve.  You will not find any hunting on our premises—unless it’s with a camera.  As a result, we have plentiful deer, turkey, birds of all kinds, an occasional red fox, and coyote.  Our guests--Cottagers and day-trippers--are encouraged to bring their binoculars for birdwatching tours and their cameras for photosFinally, we are a working hay farm, producing premium quality mixed grass hay in square bales.

Our limited vision of hosting a kids' mentorship program has has grown, too.  Now, we offer so much more:  a guest house for weary travelers, tours for the curious and those needing a little time away and coming in the near future, petting farm appearances, and a monthly kids’ movie night in the barn—complete with popcorn and drinks.

As for The Cottage, we will do our best to provide current photos of improvements and embellishments, as well as utilize the calendar for reservations and event purposes
