Stephanie Morrissette

Stephanie has worked for Mad River Biologists since 1997 as the company’s lead botanist and wetland ecologist. She is responsible for administering and performing botanical and wildlife studies, habitat assessments, and wetland delineations. She is well versed with state, federal and local laws and regulations pertaining to special-status species and sensitive natural communities, and writes biological resource sections for CEQA/NEPA documents, conducts impact analyses, and prepares mitigation and monitoring plans.

Although native to California, her love for the outdoors was cultivated during the more formative years of her childhood while living in a rural beach community along the Gulf Coast of Texas. In 1995, she decided to make Humboldt County her home after completing her undergraduate studies at Humboldt State University. Having worked in a variety of habitats throughout northern California and Southern Oregon, including sensitive coastal dunes and wetlands and remote forest locations in the Coast, Klamath, and Cascade Ranges, Stephanie has gained a deep appreciation for the diversity and unique qualities of Pacific Northwest landscapes.

She is a member of the California Native Plant Society and the Society of Wetland Scientists, and contributes many volunteer hours to the Northcoast Marine Mammal Center in Crescent City and the Humboldt Wildlife Care Center.
