Mission
To assist the people of Sanilac County in the wise use and management of their natural resources for a healthy environment and sustained economic growth.
The Sanilac Conservation District, previously known as the Sanilac Soil Conservation District, was organized officially in 1950 by farm people of the county along with the assistance of other organizations. Awareness was raised for problems related to land and there was a united effort toward finding a solution for these problems. 1,098 signatures were secured from farmers that wanted a Soil Conservation District. Today the Sanilac Conservation District and other conservation districts throughout the state deal with multiple areas of interest including soil, farmland and natural resources.
