Rex Hancock Black Swamp Wildlife Management Area
Purchased in 1971 to preserve wetlands along the Cache River, Rex Hancock Black Swamp WMA is primarily bottomland and cypress/tupelo swamp. More than 30 acres of food plots 50 acres of moist-soil units offer food for wildlife on the 6,684-acre WMA. Waterfowl hunting is especially popular on the area, but good hunting conditions are dependent on rainfall flooding the bottomlands surrounding the Cache. Deer habitat is good, with a permit draw system in place for firearms deer hunting. Non-toxic shot is mandatory for all smallgame hunting. Fishing is a favorite activity and eagles can be seen along the river during winter.

There are four camping areas located on Rex Hancock. The largest and most used camping area is located at the end of the all-weather road east of Gregory. Camping is primitive.
