Civil litigation in cases concerning land use (zoning, subdivision control, wetlands, rural water supply and sewage disposal), title to land, easements, restrictive covenants, nuisance, trespass, adverse possession; attorney malpractice, surveyor malpractice, and status of roads; real estate conveyancing & contract disputes.

He has negotiated landowner leases for renewable energy projects. Litigation experience includes all stages, from pleading through pretrial discovery (interrogatories, requests for production of documents, requests for admissions, depositions), summary judgment, trial (jury or non jury), and appeal. Michael Pill generally does his own title examination in cases requiring search of documents recorded in a Registry of Deeds. Co author of Volumes 28, 28A & 28BMassachusetts Practice: Real Estate Law with Forms, and chapter 28 on eminent domain in Crocker's Notes on Common Forms.
