Miami Valley Farm to Chef

Miami Valley Farm to Chef was established in spring 2013 to connect you to the freshest produce in our region. It is the result of conversations with dozens of local growers, restaurant chef/owners, farmers’ market managers, grocery store produce managers, and many others. These conversations revealed a need to help connect growers with chefs and grocery managers. Many growers do not have the capacity nor the desire to market and deliver their produce. And restaurants and grocery stores don’t always have the resources to juggle the many phone calls, deliveries, and invoices from every grower they source from.

The vision of Miami Valley Farm to Chef is to facilitate the movement of fresh, locally grown produce from farms and orchards to restaurant kitchens and grocery produce displays. After all, we live in one of the most productive agricultural states in the US. Access to our wonderful bounty should be easier.

Miami Valley Farm to Chef is a new service connecting chefs, grocers and other culinary institutions with local farms and orchards to bring you the freshest produce available.

The benefits of sourcing produce locally are many and diverse:

  • Superior quality and flavor.
  • Better nutrition. Vegetables and fruits retain their nutrients better in the short time between harvest and enjoyment.
  • Access to hard-to-find varieties, including heirlooms.
  • Reduce your carbon footprint by decreasing the distance your food travels.
  • Support our local farming community – and by extension, our local economy.
