Linda P. Francois
Linda P. Francois is a practicing attorney (J.D. with honors, University of Connecticut 1982) in the New Haven, Connecticut law firm of Cooper, Whitney, Cochran & Francois. She has a general civil practice with a concentration in land conservation transactions, representing individuals, towns and land trusts in conservation transactions throughout Connecticut. Ms. Francois has served as president of the Bethany Land Trust, Inc. for ten years and as an officer and/or director of the Bethany Horsemen, Inc. riding organization for 18 years. She has been a presenter on the issues of land preservation, organizing for effectiveness, and taxation of conservation transactions for the Yale Forestry School, Connecticut Farm Bureau, and Teikyo Post University, among others. She co-chaired the Conservation Easement Project for the Yale Environmental Clinic.

Since 1987 she has been a member of the Governor’s Advisory Council for Housing Matters. She is a recipient of the Secretary of State’s 2003 Public Service Award and the 1998 Bethany Conservationist of the Year Award. Ms. Francois is a member of the Land Trust Service Bureau Advisory Group.
