Grace & Hebert Architects, APAC
Grace & Hebert Architects has been in continuous practice for 45 years. Since our establishment, our firm has sought to achieve quality design by adapting to rapid changes in technology, architectural styles and market functions. We have completed thousands of projects of all scopes and sizes with a total construction value of over a billion dollars. In that time, our professional mission statement has remained the same: Design Quality Spaces that Enhance the Human Spirit.

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited

GHA has made a commitment to the promotion and practice of sustainable design. We encourage all of our clients, regardless of their interest in seeking Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certification, to incorporate sustainable materials into their design. This commitment is underscored by the design of our corporate office located on Government Street in Baton Rouge.

The project incorporated many sustainable elements such as light harvesting, building reuse (99% of the original building’s shell/structure was re-used), recycling program, use of a “green” cleaning company, products made of rapidly renewable and recycled materials (bamboo ceiling and carpet) and many other items. GHA’s office serves as a laboratory to teach our staff and clients about the importance of sustainability. The building received LEED Gold Certification and shares this distinction with the new Coca-Cola Bottling Plant, one of four LEED Certified buildings in Baton Rouge. Other GHA projects that were built with sustainability in mind include the new corporate headquarters for Amedisys Home Health Services and the Louisiana Army National Guard Reserve Center and Field Maintenance Shop, which has also applied for LEED certification.

Currently, GHA’s company roster includes the following LEED Accredited Professionals (LEED AP): Gerald D. “Jerry” Hebert, II, AIA, NCARB, David Hebert, AIA and Amanda Cason. These individuals have demonstrated a thorough understanding of sustainable building practices and principles as well as the LEED rating system.

Gerald D. "Jerry" Hebert, II, AIA, NCARB, LEED Accredited Professional, President, has served as Prinicpal in Charge for numerous projects since 1995. With his diverse background, Jerry has played a major role in the firm's many different types of projects that now total more than $900 million in construction value.
