Carol O'Neil began work at McCormick Barstow in March 2001. Before practicing law at McCormick Barstow, Ms. O'Neil was associated with Diepenbrock, Wulff, Plant & Hannegan of Sacramento, California, where her focus was the representation of Southern Pacific Transportation Company. Ms. O'Neil was also associated with Hillyer & Irwin of San Diego, California with an emphasis on construction defect defense. Ms. O'Neil is admitted to practice law in the State of California and in the U.S. District Court Eastern and Southern Districts of California.

In January 2008, Ms. O'Neil was selected as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.

Ms. O'Neil is a member of the State Bar of California, American Bar Association, Fresno County Bar Association, Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California and Nevada, and Association of Business Trial Lawyers.

Ms. O'Neil has taught a number of continuing education courses for attorneys and paralegals through the National Business Institute and has written practice manuals for these courses. Ms. O'Neil is a strong supporter of Fresno State athletics, especially the women's basketball team.
