Accokeek Foundation

The Accokeek Foundation’s mission is to cultivate passion for the natural and cultural heritage of Piscataway Park and commitment to stewardship and sustainability.

For more than 50 years, the Accokeek Foundation has stewarded 200 acres of Piscataway Park in Accokeek, Maryland, on the shore of the Potomac River. Founded to protect the view from George Washington’s Mount Vernon across the Potomac River, the Accokeek Foundation was one of the nation’s first land trusts, and continues land conservation efforts today to ensure continued protection of the viewshed and the working landscapes in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
