Acadiana RC&D Council
To create partnerships that support local culture and stimulate economic opportunities while emphasizing protection of the natural environment.

Protecting and improving Acadiana's natural resources to enhance the health of our communities. Service Area: RC&D objectives focus on improving the quality of life of residents in designated regions. Acadiana RC&D serves nine parishes in south-central Louisiana -- Avoyelles, Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary, and Vermilion.

The Resource Conservation and Development Program (RC&D) is a voluntary program that helps people protect and develop their economic, natural, and social resources. The program was established by the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), in cooperation with other USDA agencies. Each RC&D Council operates as an independent non-profit organization.

Membership is generally composed of representatives from each parish/county served. The RC&D program unites people at a grass-roots level, relying on volunteers and civic leaders to revitalize and build communities through cooperative projects.
