The Woodland Steward Program is an online curriculum developed to help landowners learn more about their woodlot and options for its long-term stewardship. Because it is web-based, you may take the course at your leisure, at times and paces convenient to you.
There are a total of 10 modules in the program, which cover a variety of topics, including identification of property boundaries, rules and regulations involving land management, forest ecology, wildlife habitat, invasive species, components of a successful timber harvest, finances and more.
The program is being offered at a rate of only $20. This fee covers the cost of the online curriculum, and it includes one free registration to a Community Field Day and luncheon, where concepts in the modules will be reinforced on the ground and in person.
