Wayne County Soil And Water Conservation District

The Wayne County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is a unit of state government responsible for soil and water conservation programs within its county boundaries. The district provides a means for all interested people in a county to work together for natural resource development.

What does the Soil And Water Conservation District do?

  • Provides a basis for wise land use decisions.
  • Improves and protects our cropland.
  • Controls and manages use of water.
  • Protects and develops our forest and preserves wildlife.
  • Educates and provides awareness on natural resources conservation and its importance.
