University of Idaho Extension, Lincoln Countylast updated: June 2015
The University of Idaho Extension System provides educational programs to the people of the state of Idaho through the United States Department of Agriculture, the University of Idaho and counties. Each of the partners in the program provides funding for the program. On a statewide basis, counties provide about 18% of the cost of the program, with the remainder provided by the state and federal government.
The county’s Extension System office serves the people of Lincoln County and serves as an off-campus office for the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences for the University of Idaho. County faculty provide a variety of educational services and informal educational programs to the local community. Among the offerings are educational workshops, seminars, and college level classes to people in the community. The faculty also provide educational information to the public by way of the news media, magazines, internet, and through our newsletters which are sent out each month to 200 families. County Extension faculty also assist people through personal contacts, telephone calls, farm and home visits, correspondence, applied research projects, bulletins and by working with farm and commodity organizations. They also serve people in the county through 4-H leaders, parents, clubs, and agribusiness firms.
