U.S. Endowment for Forests and Communities Programlast updated: December 2013

Forested watersheds provide drinking water for two of every three Americans; protecting them is essential. Generating revenue for forest landowners for the water services their land provides is a sustainable approach for protecting and improving working forests. This project focuses on generating water utility support for watershed conservation on lands certified to SFI.

This project, managed by the U.S. Endowment for Forestry and Communities (the Endowment) and supported by a grant from the Sustainable Forestry Initiative ® (SFI®), will engage forest landowners and water utilities to support innovative ways to promote watershed protection and maintenance on privately owned forest lands.
