The Twin Falls District, located in south-central Idaho, manages over 3.9 million acres of public lands that stretch north towards Redfish Lake, east to American Falls, west to the Bruneau River and south, dipping over the Nevada border. The office is located in Twin Falls, a city perched on the rim of the Snake River Canyon, and home to the dramatic Perrine Bridge, one of a handful of artificial structures where base-jumping is legal. Here on the Twin Falls District the responsibilities are as diverse as the landscape itself, and include livestock grazing, recreation and one of the most successful fuels treatment programs in the Nation. Each year, hundreds of thousands of acres are treated to restore or improve native vegetation for wildlife habitat, livestock grazing and to reduce the frequency of wildland fire on the landscape. This District is host to three field offices: Shoshone Field Office (1.7 million acres), Jarbidge Field Office (nearly 1.4 million acres) and Burley Field Office (834,700 acres). The District also manages Idaho's only National Monument, Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve (275,000 acres).
