Touching Earth Farmlast updated: January 2014

Touching Earth Farm is located in Kittery, Maine on 35 acres of land consisting of field, forest, and wetland. The original farm and barn were used for dairy cows in the 1950's, until it was sold to new owners who used the barn as storage. The property was dormant until purchased in 1994 by Jacquelyn Nooney as a base for her landscaping company.

The Flower Company, a small wholesale greenhouse operation that specializes in uncommon annuals, began operations in 1996 and continues to operate with 5 greenhouses. In 2007 a few of the company's employees and friends, decided they wanted to grow their own food. In the spring of 2008 a beautiful 50 x 80 garden was constructed with raised beds and mulched paths, and vegetables for ten families were grown. The success of this garden has been the inspiration to use the 5 acres of south facing field and the existing greenhouses to expand the farm and offer locally grown food to our community.

Is Touching Earth Farm organically grown?
All of the produce grown at Touching Earth Farm is grown and harvested using traditional sustainable farming practices. Pests are controlled  naturally using scouting, row covers and organic liquids. We use natural compost, cover crops, and organic fertilizers to add to our soil fertility. These natural additives    supply integral macro and micro-nutrients to the soil and help provide delicious, healthy and bountiful harvests. At this time, we have decided not to go through the organic certification process.
