Sweden Creek Falls Natural Area, located in the Boston Mountains of the Ozarks, Madison County, is a mix of dry glades, mesic woodlands, forests, and native pasture. The terrain is dissected with pine-oak woodlands on the dry slopes and upper west-facing slopes, and an oak-dominated community type on the lower west and east-facing slopes. Sandstone glades found along the ridgetop are home to the rare small-headed pipewort. An 80-foot waterfall maintains moist conditions on a talus slope that supports a diverse fern community.

Sweden Creek cuts through sandstone before eventually dropping into a scenic Ozark canyon creating the eighth largest waterfall in Arkansas. Begin your hike at the trail head, which can be accessed behind the gate near the parking area. From there, walk down the trail (an old road) to reach the falls. At .2 mile a spring-fed pond will be on your right. Continue past the pond another .2 mile passing an old garage and home. Go approximately another 70 yards, turn left, and follow blue trail blazes along the bluff line until you reach the falls. From the falls, Sweden Creek flows several miles before merging with the Kings River.

Directions
From the town of Boxley take State Highway 21 north. At 4.0 miles turn left (south) onto a dirt road and proceed 3.0 miles to a gate on the right. The road is closed to vehicle access, but visitors can park in gravel lot near gate.
