For more than 30 years, Bill and Sally Farris grew plants at Prairie Wind Nursery formerly located in Noble then moving to Norman, OK. Due to high demand and little supply, the nursery was initially focused on culinary herbs and perennials.

From there, inventory broadened to include native plants that grow well on their own, such as shrubs and grasses and developing varieties of beneficial pollinator plants, including milkweed, echinacea and gaillardia.
