Certified Naturally Grown

No View Farm & Bakery  is a small Certified Naturally Grown diversified horse farm that produces organic foods and is focused on providing local farm foods through several projects rooted in Agriculture.  No View Farm Local Foods located in the beautiful  River Valley of Rumford, Maine an hour northwest of Portland.  No View Farm has been farmed using natural and organic practices since 1983 and is certified by Certified Naturally Grown and currently Transitioning to Certified Organic. In March of 2012, Gone Loco! Cafe will be launched. Gone Loco! Cafe  is a Mexican Foods Take-out that will be located on farm. The Cafe will feature farm products that are primarily procured from within a 50 mile radius of the farm.

The farm owner is Annette Marin.  With help from our management team and part time employees, the farm cooperatively produces an amazing diversity of vegetables, herbs, flowers, greenhouse crops, canned goods, fresh foods, and bakery items year-round. The farm also has a flock of chickens, and riding horses. We plan to expand to add meat chickens, turkeys and hogs. In 2012, we will put the horses to work to earn their keep and will add Beginning Horsemanship lessons in our new outdoor riding ring.

No View’s system includes: growing and marketing over 80 different crops; providing year-round employment for farm labor; using cover crops that fix nitrogen and provide organic matter for the soil; developing innovative marketing strategies; and planting habitat areas for beneficial insects and wildlife. This set of strategies allows the farm to integrate farm production with longer-term environmental goals.

No View Farm & Bakery products are marketed both wholesale and retail. We sell to restaurants, at farmers markets and through a Community Supported Agriculture project, or CSA. Both the CSA and the farmers markets forge a direct connection between the farm and the people who buy and eat its produce. Through the CSA, individuals can receive produce through the year. By belonging to the CSA, members support organic farming practices that are healthful for people and the environment. They also have the opportunity to eat the freshest, most nutritional produce available.  CSA Cafe Shares are now available for Gone Loco! Cafe!Your prepayment gets you, your cafe meals at a 20% discount!

CSA members receive fresh produce delivered to convenient neighborhood locations in the Rumford, Mexico, Peru, Carthage, Weld and Dixfield area.

No View Farm is also home to many outreach activities, including educational tours and school group visits. In 2011 we will be hosting community events. We plan to host a Harvest Festival in fall which celebrates rural life and educates the public about growing food in a sustainable manner. Through such programs to the general public, No View Farm seeks to create awareness of farm realities and to stress the importance of farms in the fabric of our society.
