Midcoast Park Lands, Inc.

Midcoast Park Lands is a membership organization that, as of 2009, is defining itself as an umbrella organization and fiscal sponsor for formal and informal parks and recreation efforts in the unincorporated Midcoast area north of Half Moon Bay and south of Devils Slide.

Midcoast Park Lands evolved from the Friends of Quarry Park, which was organized in 1985 when Quarry Park was first opened to the public as a neighborhood park. In April of 1997, Midcoast Park Lands (MPL) was formed as a non-profit organization to manage Quarry Park under a lease agreement with the County and the Cabrillo Unified School District (see the history page of this website for more information). MPL is governed by a board of directors who are elected to two year terms by the general membership. These elections take place at the annual MPL meeting, which usually occurs during the Children's Day celebration in the Fall. In addition to the elected board members, there are also two appointed board members as selected by the Cabrillo Unified School District and the Midcoast Community Council.
