Marc leads the quail recovery efforts for Department.  Virginia has  a very active quail recovery program the backbone of which are five private lands wildlife biologists. Collectively they have made over 3,000 landowner site visits and have worked with landowners owning over 350,000 acres of land. These biologists are employed in partnership with the USDA NRCS and the Conservation Management Institute at Virginia Tech. The Virginia quail program is backed by the Virginia Quail Council, a cooperative of over 25 state, federal and private partners who support quail and early-succession species conservation in Virginia.
