Dr. Walkenhorst is a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School and Loyola University Chicago. She first joined the Maple family in 2010 working as a receptionist and technician. She graduated from LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 2017 and went on to practice in North Carolina for a year before returning home to New Orleans. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Feline Practioners and Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association.
