The Weyerhaeuser Little River Bottoms Mitigation Bank is a 652–acre site located in McCurtain County, Oklahoma. The Bank is located within the Little River Watershed and has Bottomland Hardwood and Stream Credits available for purchase.

Oklahoma is home to a wide variety of wetland types. From the playas in the panhandle to the riparian areas and depressions in the prairies to the bald cypress swamps of the southeastern part of the state, Oklahoma is rich in wetland resources. In Oklahoma, as in many areas of the country, wetlands have been drained and converted to other uses such as grazing, row crops and commercial pine production. As a result, Oklahoma has lost approximately 67 percent or 1.9 million acres of its wetlands since the 1800s. Especially hard hit has been the state’s bottomland hardwood forests. Some have suggested that as much as 84 percent of the bottomland hardwoods in the state have been lost. The last remaining remnants can only be found on areas such as the Little River National Wildlife Refuge. The development of the Little River Bottoms Mitigation Bank is just one way Weyerhaeuser is working to help restore and protect Oklahoma’s valuable wetlands.
