WHAT IS AN ELEVATION CERTIFICATE?
An elevation certificate is used to determine the height of a building in relation to the Base Flood Elevation (BFE), the computed elevation to which floodwater is anticipated to rise during a specified storm or flood event.

WHO NEEDS AN ELEVATION CERTIFICATE?
Existing homes that require flood insurance as well as all new construction will need a flood elevation certificate to help ensure you get the best flood insurance rate possible.
