John Klempa

John is the District Forester for district 8 in southwest Kansas. He was born and raised in the Adirondack Mountains of Northern New York. John has an A.A.S. Degree in Forest Technology from the New York State Ranger School and a B.S. Degree in Resources Management – Forestry from SUNY-ESF at Syracuse University. Before coming to Kansas, he was the Urban Forester for Ft. Lauderdale and Boca Raton, FL and a Timber Management Supervisor; both for the Florida Division of Forestry. 

John is responsible for providing technical assistance to communities and rural landowners in southwest Kansas. He assists landowners in establishing, maintaining, and renovating windbreaks and other conservation tree plantings and forest holdings. John assists communities by training municipal tree workers, etc. on proper tree planting and maintenance.
