A small committee ? four people to be exact ? started planning what was eventually to become the Jasper Country Farmers Market. From this small beginning in August 2009, they successfully managed to launch their first market day in March 2010. Their mission was simple ? provide fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables and the best of Jasper farm products and crafts to the community of Jasper.Today, the Jasper Farmers Market Association, an organization operated by a committee of local vendors, are tasked with organizing the popular event. The JFMA is also a member of the Texas Certified Farmers Market Association.The market is open every Saturday from 8am to 12pm from May to November (except during all Saturdays of August). Insider?s tip - come early! At peak spring markets, many vendors sell out by the first hour!
