Iverstine Family Farms

Iverstine Family Farms was founded in the winter of 2010 when Galen Iverstine and his father, Jack Iverstine, purchased 65 acres in the rollings hills of St. Helena Parish in Kentwood, Louisiana. We leased the land for one year to a cattle producer, while Galen worked an internship on a farm in New Boston, New Hampshire. After his return, Galen hit the ground running, purchasing two pigs and getting a place to live on the farm. The farm has grown steadily since, doubling in land size. In October of 2016 we opened Iverstine Farms Butcher, a full-service butcher shop and smokehouse in Baton Rouge, to provide our local farm-raised meats directly to our customers. We also thrilled to give other local farming partners direct access to the local market. We source verify every one of our farms to make sure they use similar farming methods that care for the animals and heal the land.
