Illinois Valley SWCD

Since 1949 Illinois Valley Soil & Water Conservation District (IVSWCD) has been a source of local conservation knowledge and project assistance for the Illinois Valley. In 1994, the Illinois Valley Watershed Council (IVWC) joined us in promoting healthy waterways and caring for natural resources in Southern Oregon.

We are local citizens who garden, farm, ranch, live, and work in the Illinois Valley. As your neighbors and friends, we offer free, non-regulatory services and consultations to landholders to fulfil our mission of Locally Led Conservation in Southern Oregon’s Illinois Valley.

For over sixty years we have partnered with residents of Southern Oregon’s Illinois River Valley on projects that conserve, restore, and enhance our natural environment and promote the recovery of anadromous fish stocks in the Rogue Basin.

Our staff works from offices in the Josephine County Building. We are governed by a board of directors. We hope you will join us as a volunteer or project partner, attend a public board meeting to discuss our current work in the Illinois River Valley; or join us for an educational event.
