Sundari decided to expand her love for urban farming into a community venture in 2009, when she founded Heirloom Gardens, LLC. The project began with 6 gardens covering 8,000 square feet. It is currently 11 gardens with over 26,000 square feet. Heirloom Gardens also has a thriving apprenticeship program, with the goal of growing farmers and increasing the number of urban farming projects in Denver.
