GIS Training & Research Center

World class training and world class facilities...

The GIS Training and Research Center (GIS TReC) is a University-wide facility administered by the Office of Research serving all colleges and departments at Idaho State University as well as the GIS community of east Idaho.

Formed in 1998, the GIS TReC has grown into a respected research center focusing on land cover change in the semiarid savannas of the intermountain west. While identifying change may be relatively simple, understanding the effect of land cover change --as well as the drivers of change-- is far more challenging. Learn more about the rangeland research program by exploring our website.

The mission of the GIS TReC is to facilitate sound decision making through the use and application of geospatial technologies.
