Eliza Cope Nolan is a shareholder in Bernstein Shur’s Real Estate Practice Group and an adjunct member of the Tax, Trusts, and Estates Practice Group.  Eliza represents natural resource-based companies and land conservation organizations in connection with complex multi-party land transactions and financings, particularly those involving timberlands with a conservation outcome.  Her client work has resulted in more than 1,500,000 acres being protected through conservation easement and fee donations and sales. In addition, Eliza represents wind power developers in connection with the real estate aspects of their projects, including title analysis and transactional work.  Eliza also works with individuals and families on real estate matters, such as acquisitions and sales and structuring the ownership, management and disposition of family properties.
Prior to moving to Maine in 1994, Eliza practiced with two Boston firms. She also served as a Project Manager for the Trust for Public Land from 1990 to 1994, where she negotiated conservation transactions in which businesses, families, and governmental entities transferred properties into protected ownership.
Eliza is recognized by Chambers USA for her timberland and real estate conservation work, and is AVrated by Martindale Hubbell.
