Dave grew up on a nursery farm and has always loved working and playing in the woods.  He earned a BS in Forest Resource Management from The Ohio State University and then spent 36 years in public land forestry.  Upon retirement in 2013 he established Silvieus Forestry to assist private landowners in managing their forest resources.
