Continental Drilling & Service, Inc. was started as Continental Sales and Service by Mr. & Mrs. O.C. LaBorde, Jr. in 1953. The early years consisted of engine & pump sales along with full repair facilities. A few short years later in the mid 1950’s the company became active in drilling water wells for irrigation and domestic use. Early in the 1960’s the focus of the company changed somewhat and the drilling rigs were sold and the main focus was on the supply store and a well service and pump repair department. Shortly thereafter, the company changed its name to Continental Engine & Pump Company.
