Collins Road VPA is a 354-acre area that will provide both rabbit and bird dog training opportunities.
Hunt Dates & Information:
Rabbit: allowed every Wednesday and Saturday during the statewide season.
Bird Dog Training: allowed every day (except Wednesdays and Saturdays) during the statewide rabbit season.
Voluntary Public Access Area
Collins Road VPA is a Voluntary Public Access (VPA) property. Since 2014, the Wildlife Resources Division has been able to enhance and add to its WMA program through additional temporary agreements with private landowners for public hunting opportunities thanks to a USDA grant.
Directions
From Augusta: Take I-520 (Bobby Jones Expressway) East to Exit 9 (GA Highway 56/Mike Padgett Highway); turn right and take Highway 56 South for 13 miles; turn left onto Collins Road; travel 0.4 mile on Collins Road to VPA entrance on right.
From Waynesboro: Take East 6th Street (GA Highway 56 North); travel 12 miles and turn right onto Collins Road; travel 0.4 miles on Collins Road to VPA entrance on right.
