Area Notes

  • A free annual General Use Permit (WMP) is required to hunt or trap on WMAs. Permits are available online by clicking "Buy Licenses" at agfc.com or by calling 833-345-0325 or any regional office.
  • Camp Robinson SUA has a military history, Munitions and Explosives of Concern may be present. Use caution; recognize these military items can be dangerous; if encountered retreat; do not touch! Move away from the area and call 911.
  • Please check the current public use schedule prior to accessing the area to ensure that compartments are open for use.

  • Horseback riding for pleasure is allowed year-round; except during scheduled events, including field trials, in which the public use compartments are reserved.
  • Bird dog, rabbit dog and waterfowl retriever training is allowed Sept. 15-April 1 except during firearm deer hunts and after supplemental quail releases.
  • A current Arkansas hunting license is required for dog training.
  • Waterfowl retriever training is allowed year-round in Compartment 5, except for during the firearm deer permit hunt.
  • No person, multi-person party, driver or occupant of a single vehicle arriving at or being present at Camp Robinson Special Use Area’s (SUA) compartment 5 may train, control or possess, or have in one vehicle more than four dogs except after 9 a.m. on Tuesday or Thursday. “Vehicle” means a car or truck with any accompanying trailer whether or not attached.
  • Live ammunition is prohibited for dog training.
  • Camping is limited to 7 days on the area and the campground near the headquarters and multipurpose building is closed except for users during scheduled events including our permit deer hunt in November. .
  • Only enclosed, pull-activated, dogproof traps may be used for furbearer trapping.

  • Dove hunting on the opening weekend of season is by permit only.
