Brown County Soil & Water Conservation District

The mission of the District is to provide information about soil, water and related natural resource conservation; identify and prioritize local soil and water resource concerns; and connect land users to sources of education, technical and financial assistance to implement conservation practices and technologies.
  
A conservation district is a local subdivision of Indiana State Government, responsible for leadershiop in the conservation of natural resources, soil, water, air, wildlife, forests and water bodies.  The district is governed by a board of five supervisors that reside in the county.
