Bayou Des Arc Wildlife Management Arealast updated: May 2012
Created in 1966 this 940-acre area in Prairie County includes Lake DesArc, a 320-acre public fishing lake. Approximately 300 acres of bottomland hardwood overflow provide opportunities to observe many species of wetland and seasonal neotropical birds. Hunting is permitted outside the levee and includes swamp, rabbit, deer, duck and squirrels.  Access to the area is limited to walk-in with parking available at lake facilities. Primitive and improved campsites are located at the DesArc Lake camping areas.
