Texas Candidate Conservation Agreement with Assurances for Lesser Prairie Chickens

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service entered into this CCAA June 26, 2006. This CCAA, allows for TPWD to enroll property owners in conservation agreements with wildlife management plans in order to protect and restore LPC habitat. If the species is listed the TPWD will issues property owners that have fulfilled the terms of the agreement with an incidental take permit, or assurance they can continue to work their property in accordance with the CCAA and not be liable if a LPC or its habitat is harmed.
