The Asian Citrus Psyllid, Diaphorina citri, is an exotic insect that feeds on citrus trees and some ornamentals in the family Rutaceae. It causes direct damage by feeding on new leaf growth and indirect harm as a vector for the bacterium Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus, which causes the fatal citrus disease Huanglongbing (HLB), or citrus greening disease.
