The Asian Citrus Psyllid, Diaphorina citri
, is an exotic insect that feeds on citrus trees and some ornamentals in the family Rutaceae. It causes direct damage by feeding on new leaf growth and indirect harm as a vector for the bacterium Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus
, which causes the fatal citrus disease Huanglongbing (HLB), or citrus greening disease.
